Well, to be fair … just about any upper tier NHL player is in the same boat. I’d rather pay someone a lot of money to make sure the company I’m invested in (through RSPs, pension plan, other investments, etc.) is actually smart enough to run the place.

I find it a joke that this type of ‘news’ article comes up every year. Do you really want the CEO of CN Rail making anywhere near as much as a high school dropout janitor in his first year on the job? Insert eye roll emoticon here.

I have a problem with the rich CEO’s demanding the rank and file employees tighten their belts in tough times when they continue to rake in high salaries and bonuses.

Other than that….everyone is free to make as much money as they can.

How about some bang for buck? I think a lot of CEO’s are overpaid for what they bring to the table. Is a CEO worth $5M+ a year when their company shows a loss or has to downsize?

You only have to look at Blackberry where the previous CEO had a base salary of $22M. That’s some good bucks for someone who did little if anything good for that company……..

We can always hope they choke on that sandwich!

$46,634

That’s the average income for an individual citizen in Canada.
Why am I, an employee of the City of Prince George, being vilified in the local rag and by my well paid managers for being so overpriced?

Is that YOUR salary Robert?….what exactly do you do?

Including overtime, I made just over $53,000 in 2011.
I run a loader during snow removal and drive a truck in summer.
Guys are making twice that elsewhere. We aren’t taking home the money some would have you believe.
