Prince George, BC – It will not be an all-Prince George quarter-final at the BC Scotties Tournament of Hearts this morning, after Tracey Jones' rink lost 6-5 to Abbotsford's Allison MacInnes in an extra end last night.

The late night match-up capped off what CurlBC is describing as an 'epic day' of tie-breakers that began after the final draw in the round robin wrapped yesterday morning with five teams tied for 4th place.  By the time they took to the ice at 9pm, the MacInnes foursome was playing in their 4th game of the day.  It was the third for Jones.

The Prince George rink was leading 3-2 after 5 ends.  Officials had to measure in the 6th, and the single went to MacInnes for the steal to tie the game at 3-3.  MacInnes stole another one in the 8th, to improve to 4-3, before Jones fought back with a double in the 9th to move ahead 5-4.  A single from MacInnes in the 10th forced the extra end, where she scored another to beat the local rink 6-5.

MacInnes moves on to play Patti Knezevic of Prince George in this morning's Page playoff #2 game at 10am.  Knezevic managed to bypass yesterday's tie-breaker marathon by finishing third overall after the round robin.  Defending champion, Kelly Scott, advanced directly to tomorrow's final in last night's Page playoff #1 game with an 8-6 win over Victoria's Kesa Van Osch.  Van Osch will play the winner of this morning's game in tonight's 7pm semi-final.

Prince George Golf & Curling Club Coordinator, Jana Peters, says there are still tickets available to the remaining games, but says turn-out to the week-long BC Women's Curling Championship has been fantastic. "We've had over 300 people at every draw and we sold out Tuesday night, Thursday night, and (last) night.  We've also had a huge walk-up crowd of almost 60 people to every draw."
