Knezevic Out At Scotties
Prince George, BC – Prince George's Patti Knezevic lost 12-6 to the Allison MacInnes rink of Abbotsford in this morning's Page playoff game at the BC Scotties Tournament of Hearts, putting an end to hopes of a local team in tomorrow's final.
MacInnes knocked out PG's Tracey Jones with a 6-5 win in last night's final tie-breaker match. It was a day of tie-breakers at the Prince George Golf & Curling Club as there was a five-way tie for 4th place after the final round robin draw yesterday morning. Knezevic finished the round robin in 3rd place and awaited the outcome of yesterday's marathon to face her opponent this morning.
The game was tied 6-6 at the end of the 7th, before MacInnes counted three in the 8th. Knezevic had to draw the four foot against 3 MacInnes rocks in the 9th, but her rock over-curled and raised MacInnes' stone giving another steal of 3 and the disappointing 12-6 finish.
MacInnes has advanced to tonight's 7pm semi-final against the Kesa Van Osch rink from Victoria. Van Osch finished first overall in the round robin, but lost to defending champ Kelly Scott 8-6 in last night's first Page playoff game. The win gave Scott the first berth into tomorrow's 5pm final.
