Prince George, BC – While we expect to have to bundle up for outdoor winter activities, it's always a bonus when your extremities aren't at risk for frostbite…
Such has been the case this weekend, and Environment Canada is calling for even warmer weather on the way.
Friday's high reached the freezing mark and yesterday's was a mere degree off that mark. The normal maximum in January is minus 6, with the normal low pegged at minus 14 degrees.
Today, the forecast is calling for a high of plus 5, with an overnight low of 2 – yes, that's plus 2. Snow is in the forecast, between 2-4cm is expected to fall, but that will turn to rain overnight. Both Monday and Tuesday have rain in the forecast with highs of plus 4 and plus 6, respectively.
While the overnight low will cool to minus 9 by Thursday, daytime highs will be above zero until Friday. If this warm trend continues, it may not be long before there's no ice in the fishing at Eaglet Lake.
