Quesnel Mounties Work on Tips in Stolen, Dead Dog Case
Quesnel, B.C. – RCMP in Quesnel continue to follow leads in the case which saw two dogs that had been stolen during a break and enter, later found dead off the Nazko Highway.
Constable Krista Vrolyk says a necropsy on the two dead boxers, failed to show any visible signs of trauma. While a full toxicology scan has not been done, it is believed the animals had likely died of carbon monoxide poisoning.
The two animals were among four dogs that had been stolen from a Matthews Road home on December 13th, 2013.
Passing motorists found one of the dogs, a Boxer, wandering off the Nazko highway. The driver stopped and retrieved that dog, then followed tracks which led them to the carcasses of the other two dead Boxers.
The fourth dog, a Dachshund, has yet to be located.

Condolences to the owners. A sad and senseless crime. Nothing more to say other than I hope the individual(s) that perpetrated this callous act learn the value of life and compassion somewhere along their life’s journey. Sooner would be better.
