BC Scotties Wraps Successful Week In PG
Kelly Scott's Kelowna rink (left) was forced to settle for silver, as a new champ, Kesa Van Osch, was crowned
Prince George, BC – A disappointing end to Kelly Scott's bid for a record 7th BC Women's Curling Championship as the Scotties Tournament of Hearts wrapped up at the Prince George Golf & Curling Club last night.
Scott lost 5-4 to Victoria's Kesa Van Osch – a rink making its first appearance at the Women's Provincials.
The final standings saw Abbotsford's Allison MacInnes take home bronze, and the two Prince George rinks of Patti Knezevic and Tracey Jones finished 4th and 5th, respectively.
PGG&CC Curling Coordinator, Jana Peters says attendance to the week-long event was excellent with more than 300 people coming out to watch each draw.
"It was a super event as a 'test' event for the 2015 Canada Winter Games," she says. Curling at the games will be on the duration of the event, with the girls playing one week and the boys the next.
