Home Invasion In College Heights Prince George
Prince George- Police have two people in custody and are seeking a third , in a home invasion on Imperial Crescent, last night, just after 10.30pm.
Two people fled the scene , but were tracked by police dog, Azar, for about 12 blocks before he found the pair in a back yard on Acadia Plc. They failed to surrender and the police dog was sent in.
Both men received minor bite wounds. The pair, both 19 years old, had broken into the home and demanded cash, and a coin collection. The coin collection was valued at $500 dollars, and an undetermined amount of cash was taken. It has not been recovered.
Police are asking the public for their help in trying to locate a dark Ford Ranger pickup which they believe contained the third person involved in the robbery.

Good boy Azar! Hope he got a treat.
sic’em Flash, sic’em Flash.
You got two out of three, throw them in the clink for a few days, and than throw Azar in there for interrogation.
Two years work camp for these boys.
Love to see those dogs work. Congrats folks!
How would they know bout a coin collection..Kinda sounds like somebody knew somebody
That was my firs thought too. How did they know about coin collection. Glad the residents weren’t physically hurt and hope these punks don’t just get a slap on the wrist.
OK! That explains the late night driveby of the cop car with the lights flashing – startled the heck out of me when my bedroom was suddenly lit blue and red! I am across the park from that street.
He spoke: Good idea! I wonder if dogs could be trained for voice stress analysis? That would be handy and very intimidating for the interviewee!
Sorry, the older I get, the less I care for punks that think that the world needs to lay themselves down to them. What the heck did the parents do to raise these waste of skin.
I had a couple junkies confuse my house with a crack house down the road. I just got the door slammed shut and locked. They started kicking and smashing at my door. I ran to the safe and grabbed the shotgun. Loaded it and cocked it right by the door. They heard that and decided to turn around. Lucky for them I guess
Pretty brave to enter someone’s house
2yr work camp are you serious? Throw them away for good as far as I’m concerned.
Pretty harsh comments. Keep in mind these guys are just teenagers. It was only 1030 at night so not that late or alarming to the home owner ! The home owner will have house insurance to pay for any damages or stolen property ! They were caught within a few minutes and blocks of the crime so it is not like they were on a big crime spree ! This is why we have probation orders, community service, and house arrest so these young men can mend their ways ! Jail will only make them angry, harden them, and give them the ability to learn from other cellmates so they are likely to commit more crime ! This behavioir is clearly an acting out for some abuse they suffered while growing up, and they surely can’t be held accountable for that upbringing ! This is
2014, not 1914 ! Surely we have advanced as a society to see ourselves able to help these troubled youth rather than throw away the key and give up on them !
I wouldn’t call a 19 year old a teenager. It took them an hour of chasing to catch them and they wouldn’t give up when asked so I am glad the dog got sent in.
Boon, you are out of your mind. These “teenagers” know the system and how lenient it is. Hit them and hit them hard.
I have run into mature adults that have had checkered pasts as youths and after an experience of being tracked by the dog and bitten, they were suddenly cured. Enough said.
Boon, your cavalier attitude towards the home owner is part of what is wrong with our system. Oh well, it was early. Besides the home owner has insurance & no reason to be alarmed… WTF??? How do you know the owner isn’t elderly? How do think the owner is sleeping tonight? What if it was you? Would you have the same attitude? Would you try to talk them down with a nice spot of camomile tea? Bottom line, the home owner is a victim. The “poor youths” committed a crime regardless of their upbringing (which is a whole other discussion). They resisted arrest. Sorry, my heart does not weep.
To the poor home owner, I sincerely hope that you are hopefully not too traumatized & can get a good nights rest.
hmmmm 1030 at night is early now? Maybe im old but by then my child is in bed and im falling asleep. Anyone kicking down my door is getting nothing but a bullet.
Boon you’re absolutely nuts. I’m only 28 and I’m in bed around 10pm. My wife is 5 months pregnant. And you think oh well I have house insurance. What?????? I can’t believe your logic. Wow just wow!!!
A violent invasion of ones home is a heinous act that should be met with severe punishment as a deterrent. Clearly lots of jail time is in order and some sort of high risk offender status that doesn’t go away for decades.
Boon, the fact that you have totally minimized a home invasion because the guys are “teenagers” is absolutely disgusting to me. The fact that they were demanding specific items to the homeowner tell me (and I am totally speculating) that they knew that the items were there, they had planed out their act and they conscienciously entered the house when they knew someone would be there. It could have easily been worse for the homeowner and thank god he/she was unharmed when these people did this. That doesn’t change the fact that it could have easily escalated and someone could have gotten hurt or worse. People should be able to have nice things and feel safe in their homes with out the threat of someone entering and taking whatever they want. These young adults deserve to be punished, they’re old enough to know what they did was wrong. Give your head a serious shake, because if you were on the receiving end of this invasion you would have a whole other outlook on the situation – I guarantee it.
Hahaha , got some blood pressure up ! Those comments are not mine. You hear them everyday in every court room across Canada and judges like Weatherly blindly accept them ! Time to get rid of the judges and replace them with computers ! Happy hump day people !
Glad I live in the safe and quiet downtown core! No home invasions in my neighborhood, unlike the dangerous College Heights. ;) Isn’t that two aggressive attempts up there in the last few weeks?
