Walk For Memories Set for Sunday
Prince George, B.C. – The Investors Group Walk for Memories is set for tomorrow in communities throughout B.C. including Prince George.
The walk is aimed at raising funds for the Alzheimers Society of B.C.
According to the Alzheimers Society more than 70,000 British Columbians are living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. Sadly, that number is expected to double within the next 25 years. Three of every four Canadians, know someone with Alzheimers or another form of dementia.
With 70 thousand British Columbians diagnosed with Alzheimers or dementia the funds raised through this walk will be used for education, support, and research about the illness.
Last year, the Walk for Memories in Prince George, raised $36 thousand dollars, organizers are hoping tomorrow’s walk will top that amount.
The walk will take place at the CN Centre. Registration is set for 12:30 and the walk gets underway at 1:30, lasting until 3:30.
