Prince George, B.C.- The Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada has turned into a game winner for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.
During intermission at the Cougars-Oil Kings game on Saturday the 18th, seven fans were given the opportunity to scoop up twoonies from the ice. Catch was, they only had one minute to do it.
There was $2,500 dollars worth of the coins on the ice, and anything left ( plus an extra $1 thousand dollars) when the time ran out, was to be donated to the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.
The lucky fans were able to collect over $650, leaving $1,819 on the ice for a grand total of $2,819 being donated to the Healthcare Foundation.
“Scotiabank has been an amazing supporter of the Spirit of the North" says Foundation CEO Judy Neiser, "We value their contribution immensely and appreciate being their charity of choice for this event.”
