Police Pups Need Names

Prince George, B.C.- The RCMP wants to introduce you to ten of their new, and arguably cutest, recruits.
Ten German Shepherd pups have been born into the RCMP’s Police Dog Service Training program in Innisfail Alberta.
Now, the challenge is to name the little critters.
So, children from across the country are invited to enter a contest to name the pups.
Children are encouraged to be original and imaginative in finding names that will serve these puppies well in their careers with Canada’s national police force.
When thinking of names, it is important to keep in mind that these are working police dogs, not pets.
The 10 whose names are selected will each receive a laminated 8×10-inch photo of the pup they name, a plush dog named Justice and an RCMP cap.
Here are the rules:
- Contestants can suggest only one name (one entry per person).
- The name may be for a male or a female pup.
- The name must start with the letter “G”.
- The name must have no more than nine (9) letters.
- The name must be one or two syllables.
- Contestants must live in Canada and be 16 years old or younger.
There are three ways to enter:
1. Enter online: www.rcmp-grc.ca/depot/pdstc-cdcp/name-the-puppy-nomme-le-chiot-eng.htm
2. Email the child’s name, age, address, telephone number and the suggested name for a puppy to pdstc-cdcp@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
3. Send a postcard or letter to the following address. Be sure to print the child’s name, age, address, telephone number and the suggested name for a puppy.
Attn: "Name the Puppy Contest" Police Dog Service Training Centre Box 6120 Innisfail, AB T4G 1S8
The deadline for entries is March 5, 2014. Contest winners and prizes will be announced on April 15, 2014.

So all the dogs names must start with the letter ‘G’ and if you win you get a stuffed dog named ‘J’ustice. Sumtingwong!
2011 puppies were “E” names, last year was “F”, etc.
Opine – Justice is the name of the stuffed toy, unlike real dogs – stuffed toys typically come with a name from the factory.
Gendarmedogge, Gestapohund, G-mutt, Good Boy, Godzdogga, Growler, Git’Em, Gofetch ~ winners all!
Gnawbone, Gnashfang, Gulpchew, Gnarlslobber, Govfido, Go-rover ~ endless possibilities.
Grabanass?
How about Gus? Just an idea.
Cheers
All grandsons of that super-annuated bitch Greatgummer. Whose brother, Goldfanger, once served in the bank robbery investigative unit.
I like “Gorf”. Tim Conway doing the golf thing. Gorf on Golf. Frog backwards. LOL
