Crash Knocks Out Power In Fort St. John

Wednesday, February 12, 2014 @ 5:20 AM

Prince George, BC – An early morning motor vehicle accident has knocked out power to more than 2500 residents in Fort St. John…

BC Hydro is reporting the accident occurred just after 4am this morning.  So far, no details are available from the RCMP about the crash.

Hydro crews are working to repair the damage and expect to restore service to 2550 customers by 7:30am this morning.

While last night's heavy snowfall did not result in any hydro outages in, or around, the Prince George area, a transmission circuit failure just after 4pm yesterday afternoon means 1600 Hydro customers in the remote northern community of Stewart spent the night in the dark.  It's anticipated that service will be restored by noon.
