Fire Damages Moncton Crescent Home

Friday, February 21, 2014 @ 6:25 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Prince George fire officials are estimating damage at one hundred thousand dollars in a fire Thursday afternoon on Moncton Crescent.

At approximately 3:30 pm, 15 firefighters from three halls responded to a  report of smoke in a house in the 7700 block of Moncton.  On arrival they found heavy smoke coming out of a single family home.  Crews entered the structure and quickly knock the fire down.

One occupant was home at the time of the fire and was outside when firefighters arrived.   The occupant was treated on scene for smoke inhalation and then taken to hospital by ambulance, for further observation.  There were no injuries to fire crews, who remained on scene for 3 hours putting out hot spots and looking for fire extension.

Cause of the fire is under investigation.

it was interesting watching the school bus try to turn around in various driveways in a comical attempt to get back out of the the crescent on the open end.

Glad to hear the occupant/owner was not badly hurt. Hopefully her assorted animals were safe too!
