Prince George, BC – Canfor Corporation has announced its selling its sawmill in southern Quebec for approximately 25-million dollars…

The company has entered into a letter of intent with a lumber manufacturer based in eastern Canada, Groupe Lebel, for its Daaquam mill, which produced 120-million board feet of lumber in 2013.

"Daaquam was sold because it was not core to our Western Canadian operations," says Canfor Corp President and CEO, Don Kayne.  "Groupe Lebel is a well respected company and Daaquam is a good strategic fit for it."

The transaction is expected to close at the end of this month.
