Happy 99th Prince George!
Prince George, B.C. – The City of Prince George is now just 365 days away from celebrating it’s 100th birthday.
It was March 6th 1915, that the City was incorporated, growing from the trading post of Fort George that had been established in the homeland of the Lheidli T’enneh in the early 1800’s.
A special committee has been developing centennial celebration plans for the City and later this morning will unveil the official “logo “ and "Brand" for the centennial celebrations.
The Exploration Place will help residents ramp up for the centennial with a new interactive system to collect and preserve the stories from Prince George families.
The celebrations in 2015 will include time capsules, home coming, entertainment and fireworks.

Who remembers some of the others?

Canada Winter Games 2015?
PG Flag?
Hopefully local history will be highlighted in the year leading up to the centennial.
The last centennial I remember is 1967, and there were plenty of reminders all across Canada of where we had been, and where it was thought we were going.

Wow, look where we are going…. Seems the local media are not printing this?

Try not to come across appearing like a gangster. Ya might get yer picture taken. Weed is still a iffy and touchy subject. Nuthin’ etched in stone yet. Be careful out there.
If yer paranoid, park up the street in your “1984” car instead of the parking lot so they don’t write down yer license plate number.
