School Lockdown in College Heights
Prince George, B.C.- The College Heights Elementary French emersion School is in lock down, following a call to police that a person, with a firearm, had been spotted in a bush near the school.
Police received the tip just before 9 this morning, and have the area secured.
“We have multiple police officers and a police service dog in the area, looking for a suspect” says Corporal Craig Douglass, media liaison for the Prince George RCMP.
“We are using an abundance of caution not only because the report was from an area close to the school, but because there is possibly a firearm involved” adds Douglass. he says police are alson investigating the validity of the call to police.
Corporal Douglass says Police do not have any reason to believe any of the children in the school are in any danger . The lockdown was a safety measure, and further information will be coming from SD57 Superintendent Brian Pepper, shortly.
