Williams Lake, B.C.- If the weather permits, there will be a prescribed burn north of the Village of Clinton this week.
Smoke and flames from the prescribed burn may be visible from Highway 97 north and west of Clinton between April 1st and April 11th.
The 40 hectare burn will help maintain a fuel management project that was completed in 2009.
The goal is to reduce the threat of an interface wildfire near the Village of Clinton by reducing the amount of wood debris and other combustible material in grasslands and open forest.
The burn is being conducted by the Village of Clinton's Volunteer Fire Department with the assistance of the Cariboo Fire Centre. The exact timing of the burn will all depend on weather conditions.
