Community Grants Available
Prince George, B.C. – The name may have changed but the goal of a new program offered by the City remains the promotion of a safe environment, cultural richness and civic pride.
Residents, community and neighbourhood groups which in the past applied for financial assistance through the City’s Social, Cultural, and Community Enhancement Grants can now apply for grants through the myPG Social Development Fund Program. City Recreation Coordinator Doug Hofstede says “if you have a project that enhances Prince George, funding may be available to help you reach your goal.”
The Program has three main focuses:
- Civic identity and pride. This could include beautification, environmental awareness, community involvement, celebrations, floral displays, festive decorations, and more.
- Cultural richness projects. Programs and festivities that help make Prince George BC’s Northern Arts Capital.
- Programs that create safe environments. projects can address unsafe environments, health and wellness, or equity and inclusion.
Those wanting more information or seeking to apply for a grant can go to the myPG Social Development Fund website. The application deadline is April 17.
