Suspicious Fire Near Terrace
Flames destroyed this shed, and vehicle-photo submitted
Terrace, B.C. -Mounties in northwest B.C. are investigating what may be another weekend arson.
Terrace RCMP and fire crews were called to a home on Larch Avenue in Thornhill at approximately 6:15 Saturday morning. Firefighters found a shop fully engulfed in flames.
The fire claimed two quads, two vehicles, and completely gutted the building. Flames also spread to parts of the house and damage is likely beyond repair. A third vehicle was also damaged as was a neighbouring home. The tally is estimated at over $200,000.
“It is fortunate that the homeowners woke up when they did and nobody was injured in this fire. The cause of the fire is undetermined. If anybody has any information about this incident contact the Terrace RCMP immediately,” says Constable Angela Rabut, Community Policing and Media Relations Officer.
Rabut says the fire is suspicious and police are investigating.
Kitimat RCMP continue to investigate two separate, suspicious house fires that also occurred early Saturday morning. There is nothing to suggest that the incidents are connected.
