Prince George, B.C.- International students from Korea, Japan, Brazil, Venezuela, Dubai, India, Russia and Ecuador put their best foot forward last night in an effort to raise awareness for the less fortunate.
The students took part in the event called “A Day with No shoes” to support the efforts of TOMS Shoes which donates one pair of shoes for every pair of shoes sold. In addition, TOMS Shoes donates a pair of eyeglasses for every pair of sunglasses sold.
It’s all about awareness, doing something for the less fortunate” says Pavel Isaev of Russia, “Not everyone in the world can afford a pair of shoes.”
By spreading the word about TOMS Shoes the students are hopeful, people in Prince George will find a way to buy a pair of TOMS Shoes ( available at Cycle Logic on 3rd)
Going without shoes for the day taught these students some important lessons “We know how so many people who live without shoes feel” says Karla Aguilar of Venezuela who adds the lesson was at times, painful, “There are a lot of tiny rocks in Prince George”.
