Fugitive Sent Packing
Quesnel, B.C.- A fugitive wanted in Alberta has been sent back to that province thanks to some hard work by members of the Quesnel RCMP.
36 year old, Ryan Allen Hugh Danchuk was wanted by Edmonton Police Service for Assault and two other Alberta regions including Drayton Valley and Fort Saskatchewan for offences which included Failing to Comply and being Unlawfully at Large. He was arrested by Quesnel RCMP on April 9, 2014 on that series of outstanding charges.
Although these Arrest Warrants were issued for the Province of Alberta, investigators from the Quesnel RCMP worked in close partnership with the Edmonton Police Service and the BC Fugitive Return Program to ensure Danchuk was apprehended and brought to justice on these outstanding charges.
“The message to criminals is clear, you cannot come to our community in an attempt to evade Arrest Warrants issued in another province,” says Quesnel RCMP Media Relations Officer, Constable Krista Vrolyk.
The B.C. Fugitive Return Program is managed by the RCMP and a joint management team consisting of the Vancouver Police Department and the RCMP. This program is funded by the Civil Forfeiture Office and Court Services Branch’s B.C. Sheriff Services. The program was created to hold individuals, currently residing in British Columbia with out of province arrest warrants, accountable for their actions and hopefully give the victims of crime some form of closure.

Right on! Way to go. Now why can’t we do the same for the South African brothers?
Way to go guys.
Only if we had teeth in our justice system to nail these ba$turds to the wall.
Why can’t we do that for the South African Brothers?
Because they are needed for Intel on all the other crimes that are committed in PG and area…….cause they are usually involved.
Sheriffs escort people back to other provinces, to deal with warrants, on a almost weekly basis. As well as escort people back to BC to deal with their warrants.
Is the intel they get from the brothers worth keeping them here? Or are they just waiting for the other criminals to take them out and save us the cost of tickets to south africa? Of course then we waste a bunch more taxpayers money trying to find out who killed them.
One would think that it would be a natural order of things to return criminals to other Provinces for crimes committed their. In fact I suspect they have been doing that for years.
So why is this being treated as a **big deal**?
Palopu
Serious warrants are Canada wide and returnable to province of origin, less serious warrants are also Canada wide, so to speak, but are only returnable to place of origin, if picked up within the province, but not out of province. It is probably only a matter of time before the subject of a non returnable warrant commits an offense in BC?
So a lot of these subjects are being sent back at BC expense. If they keep their “nose” clean in BC, they may never be sent back?
