Prince George, BC – It is believed at least one person has been transported to hospital this afternoon, following two separate collisions on Highway 16, on the city's west side.

One crash occurred on Highway 16-West at the intersection with Westgate Avenue and involved two SUVs.  One person was seen being loaded into an ambulance at the site of that mva.

Just west, a second crash involved two trucks at the turn-off to Kimball Road.  It is not known if anyone was injured.

No further details are available at this time.

They should think about putting a light in from of Bon voyage or else someone is going to get seriously injured or death with the increase in traffic flow in that area in years to come. It is a bad area to begin with.

Driver error does not mean we need another light. Sometimes people just have to a have a little patience, or drive defensively and courteously, or park it………..

Exactly right Griz, but it looks to by the photo, there is a traffic light!

Kimball is at Art Knapps and Bon Voyage, no light, Westgate’s got the light.

Lights weren’t invented to replace the human brain.

Maybe the people in college heights should pay higher insurance premiums eh? Say an extra 15% if you live west of highway 97 ;)

I would happily pay an extra 25% if it meant only residents of CH were allowed past the bottom of Peden Hill ;)

Obviously no one has ever been to Bon voyage or Art Napps, it is really hard to pull out of those areas, and like I said on my previous comment, there will be increasing traffic flow in the future. I wouldn’t mind having a light there, you cannot put a price on life.

Dumb. I’ve been in Puerto Vallarta for a week now and I can’t believe the difference between how we drive and how the Mexicans drive. The rules are so different and I have yet to see a car crash in this city which is three times the size of PG. Like these guys play chicken with each other, no three second rule, people sit in the box of the trucks, cross the center line and yet not one crash has occurred. I come to check the PG news and find this and laugh my butt off. We are truly our own demise when it comes to driving. No such thing as a major highway in Mexico.

You can spend a year in NY and not see a crash, certainly doesn’t mean they don’t happen :S

Pookerjams I suggest you look up Mexican statistics on the net. For those criticising the Kimball rd crash, try it then comment.

People drive like morons on that stretch of highway.
The police should do their job and ticket the speeders and aggressive drivers.

What police,do you actually see them on the highway anymore!unless they get called to go somewhere.

Exactly jonnypg. Try doing the speed limit from tyner west on 16.
It is becoming like the hart.

You are driving no one can make you go faster, you will not get a Ticket for driving the posted Speed, stay right and let them pass and you will get home or to work at about the same Time!

Pookerjans you are in Mexico and checking PG news? Really? Turn your little toy off and enjoy your holiday!!!

I’m not sure how anyone can speed on that road going west. It is one continuous speed bump! Go up that way all the time and don’t see a need for a light at Art Knapps. Just wait for a break in traffic then go when it is safe.

I was done my little holiday folks! Just catching up on the local crap.

People do drive like morons on that stretch. 70km/h in the left lane incessantly. Then there’s the ones pulling onto the highway without making the slightest effort get up to the speed of the traffic they’re turning into.

Here’s a little clip about how people CAN co operate in driving, without any directing light signals, stop signs or police. Please take not of just how many lanes there are in each direction.

It seems that once we have all kinds of regulations and direction, people rely on that instead of common sense.
In England they found that by NOT repainting centre lines on residential streets, cars slowed down and exercised more caution. Another town there tried shutting down their traffic lights through most of the day and found that they had far fewer accidents and people were much more courteous.

Dragonmaster: “Lights weren’t invented to replace the human brain.” Ah, but it seems they have.
weaksauce: 70 KpH? Me thinks you grossly underestimates. Try 90 or 100. Those speeds are not uncommon there.

When the accident up the road causes more traffic/congestion on the frontage road, and green truck pulls out in front of white truck that’s what happens. Be patient.

There are just way to many people that think they own the road. Drive how they please ,,, and it is YOU that does not know how to drive ,,, well to them I say ,, gall dangit ,, cant say it here , cheers ;)

OMG! 90 to 100 on a highway??? How can these superhumans control a vehicle at such incredible speed???

If traffic is bad out of Art knapps, I hang right to make a light and a left at Vanway school, sight lines as well as speed are terrible indicators at these intersections.
