Prince George, BC – First it was Nanguz, now Northern Health is seeking a mascot…

Ten-year-old Kaitlyn Muir's Nanguz, the fox, was selected as the winning mascot for the 2015 Canada Winter Games in March.  Northern Health is hoping residents throughout the region will be just as enthusiastic about coming up with a mascot that promotes healthy living.

"With the 2015 Canada Winter Games less than a year away, we want to use this opportunity to highlight health in a variety of ways, and be innovated in our thinking around how to reach a wide audience," says NH's Program Manager for Schools and Youth.  "Developing a fun and engaging mascot is one strategy that we can use to really make health accessible and interesting to children and youth across the north."

The winning entrant will earn a torchbearer position in the 2015 Canada Winter Games torch relay.

The contest opens today to all residents living in northern BC, with submissions being accepted until May 30th.  Submissions will be short-listed before a public voting period to determine the winning entry, which will be announced at the end of July.

imClean, a big blue drop of pristine fluoride free water!

Don’t forget the chlorine.

Chlorine isn’t put in the water to medicate people JB!

Northern Health needs a mascot? How about an animated Computer Generated Image Northern Health bus that “transforms” into a doctors office or operating room? That would be cool and make a point about the lack of doctors here in these parts.
