Flood Threat From Clearwater River
The B.C. River Forecast centre has issued a flood warning for the Clearwater River and the Thompson Nicola Regional District has issued an evacuation alert.
The Thompson Nicola Regional District say there is a risk of flooding at Second Creek Canyon at Clearwater Valley Road, north of the District of Clearwater.
The evacuation alert means residents should be ready to leave at a moment's notice if conditions worsen.
In the event of an evacuation, residents are to leave the area by travelling south on Clearwater Valley Road. A reception centre will be set up at the North Thompson Sportsplex in Clearwater.
Flood watches remain in effect for the Quesnel and Horsefly rivers.
High stream flow advisories remain in place for the Cottonwood River. North Thompson River, as well as the Cariboo Mountains and along tributaries of the eastern mid-Fraser River.
