Prince George, B.C. – We got our first look at Nanguz, the mascot of the 2015 Canada Winter Games, on Sunday.

The furry fox made his debut during the YMCA’s annual Healthy Kids Day Marathon event at Masich Place Stadium.   Created by Hart Highlands Elementary student Kaitlyn Muir, Nanguz is a public symbol, an identifiable face for the games according to the chair of the host socity, Anthony Everett.

Nanguz will be appearing at a multitude of school and community events in Prince George between now and the start of the games next February, and Everett says the mascot, now a working member of the games staff, will be hitting the road to provide a high profile and informational message about the games in communities throughout northern BC.
