Area Based Tenure Report Being Compiled
Prince George, B.C.- Work on the report on area based tenure is underway.
The report will present recommendations which reflect information gathered from a 2 month province-wide consultation.
The Province says it more than 4,300 submissions from email, tweets, comment ratings and blog comments.
While not considering area based tenure on a province wide basis, the Government believes it could be a viable option to help deal with mid-term timber supply issues in those areas hit hard by the mountain pine beetle.
Veteran professional forester Jim Snetsinger will be compiling all the information gathered from the dozens of meetings he chaired across the province. He will produce a report, complete with recommendations, and submit that report to the Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations, by the end of this month.
