Tete Jaune Cache, BC–  A mud slide has completely closed Highway 16 East, at Tete Jaune Cache.

The slide came down two-kilometres east of the junction with Highway 5.

According to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, an assessment is currently underway, but there is no detour available at this time.

Motorists travelling east to Jasper are advised to check with www.drivebc.ca, before heading out.  An update is expected at 5:30pm.
