International Women’s Day Breakfast Proceeds Donated
Prince George, B.C.- Proceeds from the International Women’s Day Breakfast in early March have now been handed over to the Friends of Children Society.
The Society works to assist families living in northern BC and the East Kootenay who would otherwise be unable to meet medical costs related to the needs of children under the age of 19.
It was the second annual International Women’s Day Breakfast and Prince George Valemount MLA Shirley Bond says attendees were, once again very generous “ “We have heard some heartbreaking stories about families with children who are facing significant medical challenges and we wanted to help. We are thankful to our sponsors, guests and volunteers who help make our breakfast possible. Because of them, we raised almost $7,000 to support Northern families.”
“The donation from the International Women’s Day breakfast is greatly appreciated,” says Kelly Sharpe, the GM of the Friends of Children Society. “Proceeds go directly to Prince George families whose children face medical challenges. Whether accommodation, food or travel support, the proceeds ease some of the pressure surrounding their child’s illness. That is huge!”

Shirley Bond does it again, making sound like she was the one who did this.
Not sure why she had to say anything.
