Forensic Unit Lead Describes Evidence
Prince George, B.C. – The murder trial of Cody Legebokoff continues.
Yesterday, the court heard from retired Sgt. Norman Striker. He was the head of the PG RCMP detachment’s Forensic Identification Unit when the body of 15 year old Loren Leslie was found off highway 27 in November of 2010.
Striker identified for the Court, a series of photos he had taken of the scene where Loren Leslie’s body had been found, photos he had taken during the search of Legebokoff’s truck, and photos and evidence gathered at Loren Leslie’s autopsy.
He described images of her hands, of injuries to her head, of the tattoo that was on her inner right wrist. While the photo only captured the word “grip” he told the court the full tattoo read “Grip fast”.
Loren’s father Doug has previously said the two words are the family’s motto.
Among the images, Striker described photos of pieces of carpet taken from the truck, pieces of carpet which had red stains on them, stains a sample kit indicated were likely blood.
Legebokoff is accused of murdering Loren Leslie, Natasha Montgomery, Cynthia Maas and Jill Stuchenko. The trial is expected to last 6-8 months.
