Man Faces Charges Following Break In

Tuesday, June 10, 2014 @ 11:46 AM

Prince George, B.C. – A 41 year old man,  formerly from Edmonton is facing  charges following a break in and  theft from a business on Preston Road in Prince George.

RCMP say  they got a call about a break in  at a business on Preston Road around 5:50 this morning.

A witness observed a male suspect fleeing the scene in a utility terrain vehicle (also known as a side-by-side ATV) towing a trailer with another UTV and an ATV.

Officers attended the area immediately.  This is the story 250News had told you about earlier today.

The trailer with UTV and ATV was located with the help of the witness near the intersection of Fairburn Road and North Nechako Road.  Officers surrounded the area and began a search for the suspect and remaining UTV.  The RCMP's Police Dog Service and Air Services Section were called in to assist.

At approximately 9:00 AM, a 41 year old male suspect was arrested without incident.  The male is currently residing in Prince George, but is from the Edmonton area.  The remaining UTV has been recovered.

A number of property related charges will be recommended to Provincial Crown Council.

Lethal injection sounds about right

Good solid work by witnesses and police.
Well Done!

He had quite the haul. Probably the same guy that was doing after hours shopping at cycle north a couple weeks ago.

I miss the good ole days. When criminals got what they deserved. Damn Trudeau.

I drove by there on my way to work. Lost of cops and the dog handler. Glad they caught him. IF they would just do something about is as opposed to slapping him across the wrist and telling him to behave himself.

Most of the younger generation has no idea what Trudeau did or why the justice system is like it is.

You well seasoned folks need to speak more freely with your younger folks about the political past…..

It took me years to ever piece together enough comments from others to go look for the charter of rights….

I had no idea what it was or that it even existed until just a few short years ago.

And I’m already 27.

Hummer: You never heard of that in school??

Yeah, maybe we should start putting a little pressure on our MPs to have the penalties for crimes revisited.
I hope they send that guy back to Alberta.

Public Hanging!

Ha, ha, the “hang ’em high” crowd’s comments are amusing. Nice that we have a civilized judicial system to dispense fair justice.

You know – you can take a look at countries with high rates of serious crimes – Russia/US/Somalia. They all have serious penalties – death, etc for crime. The US has more than 700,00 people in jail. Doesn’t seem to matter a damn – no matter how much you crank the penalties you’ll have criminals. Want to avoid criminals – give them a life worth living outside of jail.

Yes the US probably has 700,000 but those folks are not breaking into our houses, selling drugs on the streets to our kids or doing anything else that would jeopardize public safety. Build more jails and keep people employed staffing them until we can figure out a magic pill to give these folks that would make their lives productive.

@Timeout. You are aware that we’ve never had less crime than we do now? Fewer robberies, murderers and thefts. http://m.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/canadas-crime-rate-drops-with-homicides-at-46-year-low/article13416456/?service=mobile
