P.G. Vacancy Rate Climbs
Prince George, B.C. –It was easier to find a place to rent in Prince George in April of this compared to the same month a year ago.
In April, the vacancy rate was 4.2%, up from the 2.6% rate recorded in April of 2013.
Canada Mortgage and Housing surveys 27 communities in B.C. and Prince George was one of six which saw an increase in the vacancy rate.

Canada Mortgage and Housing reports the average rent for a 2 bedroom apartment in Prince George in April was $766 up from the $750 charged a year ago.
Quesnel’s vacancy rate has plunged. In April of 2013 the rate was 9%, in April of this year it had dropped to 5.4%.
Finding a place to rent in Terrace is nearly impossible. The April rate was 0.8%, down from 4.1% recorded in April of 2013.

I don’t believe the average they say. I was paying more than that 4 years ago when I used to rent a 2 br apt, and it wasn’t anything fancy. And that was one of the least expensive we could find.
That average is way off. When we were looking a few months ago there were many 3 bedroom places renting out anywhere from $1000/month all the way up to $1500/month. There are far more people looking for rentals than rentals available.
Same goes for houses. Been looking for a decent house for a year. The prices are creeping up and up and the good ones sell quick. Still good value in the Hart, but I have no desire to move there.

Hmm… a higher vacancy rate must mean that economic BOOM that Chrusty Clark keeps talking about for the BC interior is finally here!
How so many can keep drinking the Liebral Kool-Aid, after so many years, boggles the imagination ;-) So many mindless sheeple.
