Exams To Go Ahead, Despite Strike
Prince George, B.C.- Although teachers are planning to be off the job in a full blown strike next week, the Labour Relations Board has ruled that final exams must go ahead for students in Grades 10-12 and that teachers supervise those exams.
The Board has also ruled that final marks for students graduating this year, must be submitted no later than June 20th.
The exam schedule has yet to be finalized, but School District 57 Superintendent Brian Pepper has advised that students will not have to cross picket lines in order to write those exams. He says it is expected there will be breaks in the lines to allow students access.
Unless there is an agreement reached over the weekend, teachers will be off the job on Monday, attending what the BCTF calls a "study session" and a province wide strike will start on Tuesday.
The Labour Relations Board ruling also calls on School districts to work with their teachers to determine the number of teachers that will be needed to supervise the exams. The ruling also prohibits picket lines from blocking the entrances to those exam sites.

Best news I have heard out of all of this!
Teachers are not an essential service. A strike is a strike. There shouldn’t be any work done. I am sure if you need a babysitter a displaced cupe worker will gladly look after kids for an hourly rate.
Essential services? The LRB is a bloody joke!!!
Tell that to a grade 12 student headed to University Dragon.
