Protest Planned Over Enbridge
Tuesday, June 17, 2014 @ 2:50 PM
Prince George- The Sea to Sands Conservation Alliance were quick out of the gate today in organizing a rally to oppose the Enbridge pipeline approval.
Mary MacDonald , of the Sea To Sands Alliance, says British Columbians and First Nations must have the final say over the pipeline.
The rally will take place in front of Dick Harris's office at 5.00pm. on Thursday.
She adds that opposition to the pipeline remains strong, and is continuing to build "This line provides little benefit, but serious risk, to the vibrant communities, beautiful lands, and pristine waters of the province."

Wonder how much of this money has graced the palms of these protesters

Something you will never see on Global, CTV or that great bastion of Suzuki, CBC.
Want Dick’s attention? Try the okanagan
For god sakes…Stop the protesting and get the pipeline built. There’s thousand and thousands of miles of pipelines in the ground ,so whats the big deal now ? Just put a shutoff valve every half mile and double pipe the dam thing . Done…period
Will be interesting to see how much of a turn out they get for their protest.
Oh WOW!
There is going to be a protest at Harris’ office.
As I recall Harris said the pipeline should go ahead ONLY if the environmental and Aborginal issues are dealt with beyond question.
Considering those issues, it’s my opinion that this project will never see the light of day!
So whats the problem??? Harris has acknowleged the conditions that need to be met or it doesn’t go..and rightly so.
Just build the darn thing and get on with it…..big shock, the Natives are restless because they want more $$, had em a bag full of a few million and watch how fast they swing to the approval side.
“This line provides little benefit, but serious risk, to the vibrant communities, beautiful lands, and pristine waters of the province.”
Provides little benefit??! yeah only a boatload of jobs to build and then maintain.
Another 125 do-nothings able to get time off work to protest Alberta trying to make more in taxes so they can support the two large have-not provinces with equalization payments? Why not ship some lefties from Ont. and Qeebec out here to protest the protesters trying to slay or slow down the goose that lays the golden eggs for those back east provinces? Petitions and protests don’t run my country. At least not now.
Where doe Seas to Sands group get their dough from? Not from me and thee in dees contree. The middle east?
Other than a few protests and a couple of court cases, this issue is for all intents and purposes dead in the water. (pun intended)
Enbridge states it will be ready to start in 12 to 15 months so get ready to go to work.
This little pencil line pipeline will take up less space than the National Railways did when they were built from coast to coast. Furthermore it will be buried, and rarely if ever seen by the average person.
Will we get a pipeline break, or a spill in the ocean??? Who knows. Will we get forest fires, floods, hail storms, Asian Flu, Volcano Eruptions, etc; etc; Who knows.
If we try to run this Country on **What If’s** We would never get out of bed in the morning.
In a small way the people of Haldi Road, can identify with those in BC who were opposed to the pipeline, but who’s concerns were ignored.
People didn’t much give a s.t about Haldi, however they are now getting the same treatment from the Fed’s.
BC’s option would be to secede from Canada, and set up a separate Country.
Anyone want to get the ball rolling.
I’d start a revolution but I have to go to work tomorrow.
Harbinger. I would join you, however I plan on sleeping in to-morrow.
Go where the real money is, no not the oil sands, logging, or risking your life driving super bee trucks, no more freezing your ass in the cold
Be safe, be secure no education or knowledge required, make good money with travel, food and long, long holidays. no more responsibilities become a professional protester , whiner, bitcher. Simply show up at any we are against every thing rally, will supply signs , paint, crap, threats, curse words and granola bars.
I’ll be working too.
I am re-posting this link because it is worth the read:

The majority of protesters don’t have a job. The working class pays there welfare cheque. The ones that do work ,,, don’t drive your car to the protest and get rid of everything you have that is petroleum based. wake up // get a life
This is a great thing…..there is a god. That means I have work till retirement.
We Progress weather we like it or not. If we dont, we repress, and repression is not good after the beetle kill.
Let us all just try this…..pssst it may be successful.
Monkey see monkey do>>>>>>>>>
You work in a small town country store. You can walk or bike to work…..Really …..sad comment. A Life,,,,,,get it. This is great news, for you and your family.,
Pipe leaks into Stuart River Prince George is done! Better sell now before your property is worthless!
They are still cleaning up the Kalamazoo spill! Cause of spill? Incompetence!
CrysBaron, you are so naïve if you believe the spoon fed propaganda that Enbridge has been advertising. Lets see, what is their own figures, roughly 300 full time jobs when the construction phase is finished? Is that enough for you to risk crossing dozens of salmon spawning watesheds and risking 1000s of livliehoods along the coast?
After the buzz has faded and the media stops reporting on it, the ‘protesters’ will move onto the next crisis.
Maybe we’ll see an end to the anti-pipeline propaganda that the CBC has been spewing for the past while. It would be a nice break.
The Protesters are native JB!
The logging was stopped and so will this pipeline be stopped!
So Noway what do you think of the pipeline along the Fraser headwaters?
You folks that have donated to Greenpeace, they lost 5 million in currency trading
http://joannenova.com.au/2014/06/when-is-your-green-charity-too-big-when-it-loses-5m-currency-trading/
A Stuart crossing is far more concerning to PG than the Fraser Headwaters. We get our water from the Nechako.
I too will also miss the protest because of work… but I will sign the referendum petition to legally put a stop to this Gateway madness.
Eagleone,
When they cross rivers these days they tend to do it with directional drills, passing way underneath the river without the river even knowing that it happened.
I think it is time we started to name our price instead of protesting. I am not a big fan of this pipeline, but it needs to happen to supply the world with energy.
I think BC should get 10 bucks a barrel, they should buy the commercial fleet on the west coast and park it, giving the fisherman jobs in monitoring the increase in sports fisheries instead.
Some of this money should be spent on restoring salmon habitat lost to various industrial activities.
Last but not least with 1.8 billion a year (10 bucks a barrel) coming into the provinces coffers we should put some more areas aside from logging and hire more people to look after our resources.
Oh so no concern for the Fraser? Kind of selfish.
Everyone is getting their drawers in a knot over nothing. Just vote Harper out and vote for the sequal, dumb or dumber. Your pick for who’s who.
