Suspicious Fire on Pine Street Property

Thursday, June 19, 2014 @ 11:48 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Another fire at a Pine Street  property.

Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 2500 block of Pine Street just before 8 this morning.

A single car garage on the property was in flames.

Firefighters were able to douse the flames quickly and there was no threat to neighbouring buildings.

The garage is attached to an abandoned house that has been the scene of several fires over the past year.

The fire is considered suspicious.  Investigators remain on scene to determine the cause of the blaze.

Why is the owner of the property not made to clean it up and get rid of the structure? The city should just come in and raze the building and send the bill to the property owner. How much money has been spent on fire fighters to come put out fires on the same property?

Who then would be stuck paying for the bill if the owner didn’t pay it? Us! I don’t want to be paying for some owners property simply because they can’t keep it maintained. Tear the house down and sell the property but I doubt that’s feasible for the owner.

Well, if it is truly abandoned–are the taxes overdue? Soon to be on a tax sale list??

Nothing is suspicious on pine street, more like meth induced. Let’s start being honest folks.

Take the Freudian slip in another article on this site and run with it and consider Pine Street and the like in the “bowel” in Prince George. I will. What a difference another vowel makes. Like it was made to fit.
