Two Cougars Head To Under 18 Camp
Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Cougars Hockey Club is pleased to announce that both Jansen Harkins of North Vancouver and Jared Bethune of Warroad, Minnesota were among the 44 players selected to attend Team Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team Selection Camp. The camp is being held from August 2nd – 5th in Calgary, and from there the players selected will travel to Europe to compete in the 2014 U-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup.
Harkins was originally selected by the Prince George Cougars second overall in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. Last season he led all Cougars rookies with 34 points in 67 games, and captained Team Pacific to a Silver Medal at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
Bethune was listed by the Prince George Cougars in the fall of 2013. Last season with Warroad High School, he tallied 31 goals and 53 assists in just 25 games and added five points in six games with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL
