Prince George, B.C.- Emergency personnel are on scene at the Nechako River Boat Launch this hour.
They had received word a person, believed to be an adult male, had gone into the river around 3:00 this afternoon upstream from Wilson Park..
"Emergency personnel, search and rescue, the dog unit, have all been activated" says Corporal Craig Douglass, media liaison officer with the Prince George RCMP.
Corporal Douglass says police are hoping anyone who may spot anything to contact police immediately.
The person who went into the river is wearing a red t-shirt.

Police have stationed personnel at the John Hart and Cameron Street bridges in the event the person floats by.
Sources say the person had planned on swimming across the river upstream from Wilson Park.
