Search Called Off

Prince George, B.C. – The search for a male,   who went missing on the Nechako River yesterday, has been called off.

Prince George RCMP had received a report yesterday afternoon that a male had gone into the river upstream from Wilson Park, and  then disappeared.

The Prince George RCMP in partnership with Prince George Fire / Rescue and Prince George Search & Rescue searched the water and shoreline of the Nechako and Fraser Rivers until nightfall.  No traces of a victim were located.  The search has been discontinued.

The person has been described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • 30 to 40 years old
  • Approximately 180 cm (5'11")
  • 95 kg (210 lbs)
  • Dark hair
  • Wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap

 

Police are looking to speak to anyone that may have information about this incident or may have been in the area at the time.  Those persons are asked to please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300.
