CounterAttack Nets Numerous Drivers
Prince George, B.C. – RCMP in B.C. launched their summer CounterAttack program last weekend, and despite warnings that police would be looking for impaired drivers, people continued to get behind the wheel after having a few drinks or some drugs.

Why is it that novice N drivers, don’t have their licenses revoked when found driving with alcohol in their systems? I was of the understanding that that was one of the conditions of an N designation.
13 peopele got 90 day suspensions…. I knew our roads were bad but that bring it to a whole new light.
Understanding that roadside checks are very effective and I am all for them, but I am kind of confused how those numbers work. 27 prohibitions and suspensions from driving, 2 for drugs and only 2 criminal charges??? Knowing that there are many different reasons for suspension and prohibitions, but does this mean that 25 people had there driving privileges revoked with no charges? Must make for very happy towing companies. Great way to raise money for the province.
These penalties are issued by RCMP. ICBC imposes their own penalties such as suspending the the licences of the N drivers for alcohol.
The Novice driver above would have had an alcohol content between 0 and 0.5. So in addition to the 12 hour suspension they will have their driving record reviewed by the superintendant and may be assessed further penalties. Finally, they have to restart their 24 month probationary period.
When ICBC was just an insurance company it was fine..now it’s just another wallet for the politicians to stick their hand in to pay for whatever and then make it look like ICBC is losing money so they can raise our dates.
How many insurance companies pay for road rehab?
Why the road checks only on long weekends? They could have every fifth vehicle impounded if they did one every friday night in PG.
sergiomomesso they are out more than just on holidays…. you just get the holiday roundup on here or other web sites.
Go get them RCMP… the more tehe merrier…..you set up and I’ll bring the coffee…..
