Scooter Driver Arrested for Arson

Prince George, B.C.- A woman is facing a charge of arson after a grass fire was set near the Treasure Cove Casino yesterday.
Around 10:30 Monday morning, Prince George RCMP received a report from Prince George Fire / Rescue advising of two deliberately set grass fires near the junction of Highway 97 and Highway 16.
Just before 1:00 pm, police and fire received two more reports of grass fires in the same area.
Through investigation, officers identified a suspect as being an adult female in a mobility aid "scooter".
At approximately 1:20 pm, officers located and arrested a 49 year old Prince George female .
Lydia Paradis was held in custody overnight, and was to appear in Provincial Court today to face a Criminal Code charge of Arson-damage to property.
Further charges may be considered.
Prince George RCMP are still investigating a series of grass fires earlier this spring. In early May, Prince George Fire / Rescue responded to at least seven reported grass fires in the VLA area and Hudson's Bay Slough area of the City.
