(Emergency crews attended Friday night accident scene at bottom of University Way)

Prince George, B.C. – The male driver of a car was likely fortunate to have escaped serious injury in a single-vehicle accident late Friday night at 15th Avenue and Foothills Boulevard.

Prince George RCMP and Fire Rescue crews were pressed into service following the accident.  A person who was at the accident scene says he believes the newer model imported vehicle came down the hill on University Way travelling at a high rate of speed.  The driver lost control of the car which then went over the median and landed off the other side of the hill in the grass.  The vehicle then caught fire.

It’s believed there was only one occupant in the car at the time and he escaped injury.  Attending officers located the person believed to be the driver at a nearby apartment building.

Oh another “I can handle any speed attitude.” Glad he didn’t hit anyone!

Did he have a N on the back.

RCMP need to Patrol Foothills and Tyner Blvd more, I cant believe the speeds some of them are doing.

“Did he have a N on the back.” No but he has an ‘L’ on his forehead.

Very lucky! Drove by that scene last night and it did not look good.

Better signage needed-curve ahead.
That’s a nasty curve at the bottom of hill.

there is posted speed limit signage but once again vehicles flying not just speeding down the hill. EVERYTIME I drive this route cars go flying by like you are stopped on the side of the road, incredible .

the only signs needed are STUPID SIGNS. When the police get there they should be able to hand it to the driver and say “here’s your stupid sign”

There is signage near the curve at the bottom ; it tells us to slow to 50 . Pretty straight forward to me

daddy has more money them brains,

Every day my spouse and I compare stupid driver stories…every day! This city is filled with aggressive drivers. I’m amazed by the countless N drivers who tailgate and weave in and out of traffic. I am also surprised there aren’t more accidents on Ospika between Range Road and Tyner Blvd. Drivers really pick up speed between Ferry and Range Road as they head up the hill. I see more crazy drivers here than I do on Foothills. Everyone must be in a hurry to get to Walmart. Also, why why why do people stay in the left lane if they’re not turning left? Slow down and get to your destinations safely people! If not for yourself, think about your passengers, pedestrians, and other drivers.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend PG’ers!
