Alexis Creek, B.C. – A 600 hectare wildfire west of Bull Canyon has prompted the Cariboo Regional District to issue an Evacuation Alert.

Effective immediately, it covers the Bayliff Road area near Alexis Creek and is affecting nine homes.

The CRD has set up a public information line at 250-398-5581.

The wildfire has also closed Highway 20 in both directions 24 km west of Alexis Creek though a detour is available at Chilko Lake Road and Bayliff Road.
