Fort St. John, B.C. – Mounties are investigating an apparent homicide in Fort St. John.

North District Corporal Dave Tyreman says it all began after they received a third party complaint of a man with a gun in a house in the 10,000 block of 105th Avenue just after 1:30 this afternoon.

He says police immediately set up a perimeter around the area and entered the house to find a deceased 64 year old local woman and an injured 60 year old man from Manitoba.

Tyreman says the male was taken to hospital to have his injuries treated and says it does not appear to be a random act as the two knew eachother.

He says the investigation is being handled by the North District Major Crime Unit and is releasing few other details.

Tyreman says they won't be naming the deceased until next of kin is notified.
