Yet you can peppersray dogs with zero repercussion…
here’s hoping he runs into a gang of animal-lovers – sick bastard
I’m confused here. Several years ago there were a couple of Rottweillers in my (out of city limits) neighbourhood that were terrorizing everybody. I mean, you couldn’t walk down the street without them charging you. The owner didn’t do anything so I called the SPCA (who were absolutely useless) then I called the RCMP who told me to call animal control. I called animal control but since I live outside of city limits there was nothing they could do. They did, however, give me some options. I could either get a cattle prod or I could just shoot the damn dogs.
Is it possible this guy was just dealing with a bunch of nuisance dogs?
I have seen the video and I agree that he needed to be charged for threatening the guy with his gun but what are we supposed to do about dogs running rampant?
Yes, what are you supposed to do!
WELL FROM the animal lovers perspective its obvious you let them shred some innocent child then it becomes a criminal matter. SPCA, ANIMAL CONTROL, RCMP ALL BECOME INVOLVED, does this make any sense.
Just another reason to stay the hell out of Pineview. Redneck hell.
Dogs are not allowed to run free in rural areas. If they do, and they are threatening livestock then they can be legally shot.
One would think that if they were posing a threat to humans the same rules would apply.
Sorry but people don’t qualify…just livestock.
Let’s see 79 year old obviously had an issue with the dog being on his property. So charge the dog owner for letting him run loose!
The dog was not on his property.
Ever? So he just randomly shot the dog because…… he wanted something to do?
The dog was shot on the dog owner’s property. This family has 2 young children. This is the 5th dog this old fellow has shot in the neighborhood (allegedly).
They can also be shot if they are chasing wildlife.
Of course you aren’t allowed to shoot just anywhere.
There you go “ger139”, they got him!
That would be one crippled old man if he shot me dog in front of my kids. He would probably never walk again gun or not.
Inga Rd does have a nuisance dog and these people own it, although it is not the one that was shot. Their other dog, a pitbull, goes onto others properties and sneaks up behind them, growls at people and generally make people uncomfortable in their own yards. This dog pulled a child off off his tricycle and started to drag him away but luckily the father had pepper spray (because of the dog) and got the dog off the child. This same dog pulled an elderly man on a scooter off his scooter which then tipped over. Neighbours helped the man right his scooter.
The owners have been talked to by more than one neighbour and refuse to accept any responsibility for their dogs actions. Saying that proper communication could have solved the problem is a lie. Animal control and the RCMP were both notified about this dog as well but as it is a rural area did not do anything to help.
I personally could not have shot a dog and I don’t know if the husky was as bad as the pitbull but these owners need to take some responsibility as well. If you let your dogs run free and attack people don’t be surprised if something happens to them.
Part of the enjoyment of the low property taxes of the regional district, is it’s pretty much do as you please because there is no by-law enforcement at all. What people can do, rather than shoot their neighbor’s dog, is drop a $100.00 filing fee at the small claims court and sue your neighbor for violating your quiet enjoyment to your property, and make sure you’ve got video of the nuisance dog, or whatever the nuisance is. You get to drag their butt into court in front of a judge to explain why they behave they way they do. And you ask the judge for say $25,000.00, for your loss of enjoyment – and see what if anything he gives you. Even if you get nothing, you got to mess with their life a bit. And if they’re the kind of people I think they are, they’ll probably not even bother showing up to court, and you might end up with default judgement.
