Prince George, B.C. – A dozen or so members of the Prince George Naturalists Club are at Carrie Jane Gray Park this morning pulling invasive weeds.
Club member Clive Keen says the plants, for instance today's target, Himalayan Balsam, are an all around nuisance.
"They are very shallow rooted and they kill off the other stuff around them. They also mess up the food web."
He says another problem is that often times the weeds are pretty.
"So people put them in their gardens and then they run rampant."
If you want to help pull some weeds they will be at the park until 12 today.
