Lots of Smoke, But No AQ Advisory…Yet

Prince George, B.C.- The rain in Prince George isn’t doing much to flush out the heavy wildfire smoke that has settled along the Nechako River valley.
When you drop down into the bowl area of the City, the smoke is very visible, but, according to the 24 hour rolling averages for PM2.5 and PM 10, still within acceptable limits.
As of 9 this morning, the 24 hour rolling average for PM2.5 at the Plaza 400 site was 20.8micrograms per cubic metre. The provincial target is 25 micrograms per cubic meter.
The level of PM10 was 31 micrograms per cubic meter, still well within the provincial target limit of 50 micrograms per cubic meter.
