Esso Stations Lower Gas Prices
Prince George, B.C. – There is what some may find an interesting development at the gasoline pumps in Prince George.
As noted by GasBuddy, Esso dealers, which have been charging prices considerably higher than other outlets since the arrival of gas pumps at Costco brought competition to the market, are now charging about the same as the rest of the stations in the city. Esso prices had, for the most part, stayed up over the $130 mark since the Costco gas bar opened last September.
While the Esso outlet on Domano Boulevard still has the highest price for a litre of regular at $129.9, four Esso stations are charging $125.9, the same as virtually all competitors, while three are charging $127.9.
Costco is still selling regular gas two cents a litre cheaper than anyone else in town.

Pigs! I will never fill up at Esso
The sad thing is that it’s the retailers who are hurting because of Esso’s consistently higher prices.
Despite that, I still see people filling up there when the price is almost always lower just across the street. I am talking about the Domano and O’Grady location.
Must be a PG thing. Esso prices out here are pretty much the same as all of the other majors.
When I was in the Lower Mainland recently I seen a 16 cent spread in price across the street from competition… but in this case it was the Esso station with the lower price and the Petro Can with the higher price. I considered that odd in that it was the complete opposite here in PG, so I think it is just a PG thing with ESSO as the price leader for the high side.
I also noticed that in the BCR Site the stations have for months been charging about 15cents a liter more than Costco, and over ten cents a liter more than just across the bridge. Obviously this must be geared towards the highway traffic before they realize the price elsewhere in town… one wonders what that does to customer loyalty though. The same to a lesser extent when one heads up the Hart.
As for the province as a whole I think Chetwynd and Mackenzie are now the winner for consistently highest prices. anywhere.
Hopefully everyone boycotts Esso.
I do not deal with Esso and never will.
And ppl are still fuelling up there when it is 10c a litre across the street. I dont get that.

Boycott them because they charge more then then competitors? That doesn’t really make much sense. I won’t use them if they’re the most expensive but if they become cheaper, they’ll be the first to get my money.
Eastway Esso on Boeing Rd. has pretty much stayed with the competition for most of the year. And while I don’t drive a diesel on the road, my little tractor balks at anything other than Esso diesel as soon as the weather turns cold.
I’ve noticed that it all depends on the owner of the Esso – they’ll set the same price at all their stations, which is why there might even be a discrepency in prices at different Esso’s.
And as for the diesel quality, it all comes from the same place. It’s just the additives they add for the differing brands that would make any difference, and even then I think all winter diesel is the same across the board. Maybe the other stations don’t have as high a diesel turnover resulting in older summer fuel still in the tanks?
Let me get this straight…
Boycott Esso because they charged more for gasoline? But in the past it’s been boycott (insert company), because all the prices are the same.
Make up your minds.
Esso otherwise known as Exxon. They still haven’t cleaned up their Valdez spill or paid off their court ordered penalties to those whose lives they destroyed. Why would anyone give their money to anyone connected to Exxon?

If their gas was cheaper then the station across the street I would.
Convenience > price. Simple as that.
Of course – YMMV
What a bunch of tools here. First off, that Esso on Domano is not corporate owned, it is privately run. You morons shop at Saveon, even though it’s 20% higher than the Walmart… but hey.. keep on thumping your chests.
Getting mad a guy for charging higher prices? Just don’t go there, no need to ‘boycott’ anything. Who cares?
I wonder if the teachers are going to hire a price setter for their negations with the gov’t?
A few days ago the Esso on Boeing road was 13 cents per litre cheaper than the Mr G on the highway.
