Prince George, B.C. – The CIBC Run for the Cure is now just 48 days away and as a run-up to the annual run to beat breast cancer, volunteers across the country held fundraising activities of a wide variety during Paint Canada Pink Week which ended Sunday.

Here in Prince George the culmination to a week of events was the Amazinf race, with teams of four members each involved in a sort of scavenger hunt, racing (legally) around town to a number of check points at which they had to perform certain tasks to obtain their clue to move on to the next location.

Check points included the Northern Sports Centre, Mr. PG, Second Cup, Section J at CN Centre, and the playground at Fort George Park.  The event was followed by a barbecue put on by Mr. Mike’s at Fort George Park.

There weren’t pledges for the race but participants had a choice of signing up to be part of the run Ocxtober 5th, volunteering on run day or making a donation to the Run for the Cure.

And the teams were aptly named for a breast cancer event:  3 Bewties and the Beast, Besties for Breasties, Big or Small, Save Them All, Duran Duran Party Van, Northern Sport Centre and finally, the Nurpz.
