Plenty of Speeders and Distracted Drivers

Prince George, B.C.- The Municipal Traffic Section of the Prince George RCMP Detachment was very busy yesterday.
The section conducted a one day speeding and distracted driver enforcement campaign in the City.
Over the course of the day, 68 violation tickets and one Notice and Order were issued.
Next to speeding, the next highest number of violation tickets issued was for distracted driving as people were on the cell phones. “Please slow down and put your phones away while driving” says Cpl. Corey Eggen of the Municipal Traffic Section. “Doing so may prevent a collision and even save a life.”
Here are the details of the violations noted:
- 48 Speeding violations
- 1 Excessive Speeding violation
- 12 Distracted Driving violations for cell phones
- 4 No Insurance violations
- 1 Follow too Closely violation
- 1 No Front Licence Plate violation
- 1 No Driver’s Licence violation
- 1 Defective vehicle

Hmmm … and we did away with photo radar because?
They need to do a dangerous driver blitz on hwy 97 north. Hwy 16 west is way busier, but it appears that most of the dangerous drivers are travelling 97 north. I travel it numerous times a day and am shocked at just how stupid some drivers really are. Why do you morons wait to pass until it’s unsafe to do so?

Come on now, can’t you spend more than 2 minutes looking for cellphone users.I see that many at every intersection.
