Back to School Week at UNBC & CNC

Prince George, B.C. – Next week is back to school week for students at the University of Northern BC & the College of New Caledonia.

Both schools will celebrate with a number of activities planned.

At CNC program orientations take place Tuesday along with a toonie barbecue in the front courtyard from 11 am – 1:30 pm.

A student life expo runs Thursday at the Gathering Place from 10:30 – 1:30.

It will also be a busy week up at UNBC as the school kicks off the start of its 25th anniversary celebrations.

In fact 25th Anniversary Manager Kim Hayhurst says they started planning for all the activities this weekend.

“We’re training orientation leaders Saturday and Sunday to welcome 500 or so new students to campus.”

The public festivities get underway at 1 pm on Tuesday with a tree planting in the Ceremonial Loop which will be followed by live music and campus tours between 2 and 3.

Minister of Advanced Education Amrik Virk is also coming to announce an expansion to the school’s bioenergy plant.
