Prince George, B.C. – Another successful Jail & Bail event has come and gone in Prince George.

More than $15,000 was raised Wednesday in the Gold’s Gym parking lot – nearly double the $8,000 brought in during last year’s inaugural event.

T.J. Grewal from the Grewal Group and Derek Ingram from Central Interior Catering & Consulting were the biggest money raisers, both bringing in over $2,000.

The Jail & Bail was the final fundraising event for the Cops for Cancer Tour de North with proceeds going towards pediatric cancer research, support programs and to send kids to Camp Goodtimes.

The 26 riders kick off their one week journey September 12 in Prince George and will wrap up their ride in Prince Rupert September 19.

I understand Derek was “arrested” for wearing “too tight” spandex shorts. Smuggling, even if it is just plums, is a serious crime. I think bail should have been set even higher.
