North District RCMP Chief Supt. to Receive Special Recognition
Prince George, B.C. – North District RCMP Chief Superintendent Rod Booth is to be invested as a Member of the Order of Merit of Police Forces in Canada.
The ceremony will take place this afternoon at the Governor General’s residence, Rideau Hall in Ottawa.
Chief Superintendent Booth is one of 77 members of a police force who be named as either an “Officer” of the Order of Merit, or a “Member” of the Order of Merit.

Established in 2000, the Order of Merit recognizes conspicuous merit and exceptional service by members and employees of Canadian police forces, whose contributions extend beyond protection of the community.
There are three levels of membership:
Commander (C.O.M.),
Officer (O.O.M.) and
Member (M.O.M.).

Just asking… Weird top brass patting each other on back while front line staff could use some morale boost and also the Force always saying they need more money to do their job.. sorry I asked.. :(
